How to Create Your Own Sigils

22/09/2020

Sigils are a huge part of witchcraft. We use them to magnify our intent and their perfect for if you don't have the energy to perform a spell but still want to do something. We can get sigils offline but it's always safer to create your own. We don't truly know the intent of a sigil off the internet but if we create our own we know it's safe.

Sigils are super easy to make! All you need is a pen and paper!

Step 1: Write down your intention!

This is super important, you need to know what you want this sigil to mean. For example, i have a few witchy pen pals so I want a sigil that says "This letter brings love and light and protection." This is the focal point for the sigil so write this on your piece of paper.

Step 2: Cross out the vowels!

Go through the the phrase marking out any vowels that appear.

Step 3: Double trouble!

Go back through the phrase removing any letters that appear more than once. Then write out the letters you have left.

Step 4: It's a numbers game!

Now we convert the letters to numbers, make a grid of 1-9 at the top and then place the letters underneath like so.

Then circle the letters that you have left. If two letters fall under the same number then cross that line out too.

Step 5: Swings and roundabouts!

From here I'm going to show you 2 potential methods you can use, however more do exist: the clock method or the number grid method. Personally I use the clock method!
